फाजिल्का: यह रहा सिर्फ 13 माह का विधायक !!!!

क्या आप जानते हं कि जब देश का विभाजन हुआ था तो उस समय फाजिल्का के विधायक कौन थे। बस यही बताना है, मगर यह पहले बता दूं कि उस समय अबोहर क्षेत्र फाजिल्का में था और जलालाबाद विधान सभा नहीं थी, फाजिल्का के गांव बहक बोदला से ममदोट विधान सभा हलका शुरू हो जाता था। खैर, यह बात फिर कभी, फाजिल्का की बात करते हैं। उस समय विधान सभा सीट फाजिल्का मुहम्मदन रूरल थी, यहां चुनाव मार्च में हुए . . . इस सीट पर Unionist Party की तरफ से बाघ अली सुखेरा (सुखेरा बस्ती, अबोहर)  चुनाव लड़े थे। बात 1946 की है। मतदान केन्द्र बना था मुहम्मदन थाना, जहां वोटरों ने मतदान किया। हालांकि उस समय लोगों में आज के चुनावों जितनी रूचि नहीं थी, फिर भी जो वोटर वोट के लिए थाने जाते थे। उनका थाने में नाम, पता लिखा जाता था . . . फिर पूछा जाता था कि आपने किस उम्मीदवार को वोट देनी है . . . सिपाही द्वारा यह एक रजिस्टर पर लिखा जाता था और दूसरे रजिस्टर में दूसरा सिपाही दस्तखत करवाता था या अंगूठा लगवाता था . . . वोटिंग का यह सिलसिला कई दिन तक चलता था। इसका परिणाम 21 मार्च 1946 को आया था। फाजिल्का से बाघ अली को 61.9 प्रतिशत मत मिले और वह एम.एल.ए. चने गए। 1947 में देश के विभाजन की घोषणा हो गई और उनका कार्यकाल 4 जुलाई 1947 को समाप्त हो गया। वह अबोहर की सुखेरा बस्ती को छोडकऱ मुस्लिम परिवारों के साथ मैकलोडगंज रोड से पाकिस्तान चले गए। (Lachhman Dost 99140-63937)
